LAUSANNE, September 26, 2016 - Bright Box, a global vendor of connected vehicle services, today announced its participation in FISITA World Automotive Congress 2016, important conference focused on the issues of energy-efficiency, safety, eco-friendly technology, and connectivity in Busan, Korea's second largest city and one of Asia's most renowned convention destinations, on September 26-30.
At FISITA 2016 participants will be able to see the latest development by the European company Bright Box: the Remoto connected car platform and self-driving car solution with a neural network that learns extreme driving through computer games – Remoto Pilot.
Bright Box presents Remoto, a global connected-car solution comprising all the components an automobile manufacturer needs: a certified Telematic Control Unit (TCU) to be installed in the vehicle, a web-based control panel, and a customer app for the vehicle's owner to control and track it remotely. Using the application, each visitor at FISITA will be able to switch on the ignition, open the doors or turn on the heating of the car located in Dubai and Moscow.
Also Bright Box introduces a self-driving car solution with a neural network that learns extreme driving through computer games. Remoto Pilot, a new self-driving car solution, features safe, reliable road/lane following as well as real-time detection and avoidance of various obstacles such as cars and pedestrians. The key enabling technology for high efficiency autonomous driving capability of Remoto Pilot is the use of stereo vision in combination with advanced computer vision algorithms based on neural networks. Combined with the use of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and high-definition (HD) maps, this technology enables the possibility of fully autonomous car operation.
Remoto has already been successfully deployed by several automakers, including Infiniti, KIA, and Nissan. The "connected car" platform from bright box is in trial operation by many vehicle manufacturers around the world, from Europe through the Middle East to Asia. Previously, the platform was presented at Connected Car exhibitions in Amsterdam, TU-Automotive in Berlin, Connected Vehicles in Shanghai, and the Frankfurt Motor Show. In Europe the Remoto servers are located in Amsterdam and run on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
At FISITA 2016, worldwide specialists in automotive industry will get together to share their creative thoughts and knowledge to bring our next generation a whole new era of transportation.
