According to Berg Insight, the carsharing market is currently in a phase of strong growth which is expected to continue in the coming years. The total number of carsharing members worldwide reached 50.4 million at the end of 2018. And, the total car fleet operated had reached about 332,000 vehicles. Market research firm forecasts that carsharing membership will grow to about 227.0 million globally by the end of 2023 and the total carsharing fleet will then reach approximately 1.2 million cars. In-vehicle systems company means that these companies provide complete hardware solutions for telematics, user identification and door locks, fuel car, and car key management as well as device management platforms. The Bright Box’s telematics hardware targeting carsharing operators is branded Remoto. The Remoto Car Sharing service is designed to provide foundational solutions to easily manage the vehicle’s park. The customer receives personalized hardware (TCU & OBD), a sustainable IT platform based on Microsoft Azure, pin-to-pin technology, multilanguage technical support 24/7. The platform is able to integrate with carsharing booking platforms and third-party carsharing apps through open APIs. The carsharing segment represents 4,500 vehicles, spread across seven carsharing operators. The carsharing clients are located in CIS and Europe. As of Q3-2019, Bright Box only powers free floating carsharing.
Carsharing is becoming available in a growing number of countries and cities worldwide. Europe, North America and Asia-Pacific so far represent the vast majority of all carsharing programmes and active members from an international perspective, but other markets such as Russia and Latin America have grown rapidly during the past years. “Bright Box has been working with car-sharing operators for the third year.
